Having more than 20 years’ experience in professional accountancy practice, Sue has a broad range of knowledge and experience which she uses in order to give the best service to our clients.
As Accounts Manager, she is responsible for completion of our clients year end accounts and is the main point of call for any queries in this area. She also supervises and assists with the training of junior staff and managing tasks to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
She has excellent communication skills and has established great relationships with the clients of which she intends to build on.
She has two teenage children who bring their own challenges but they are her world. In her remaining spare time, if any, Sue is a member of the Tamworth Ladies Circle and this has given her a passion to try new activities from Kayaking to Cocktail Making. As part of the Round Table family, they also have a strong commitment to raising funds for charity and donating their time for good causes.
Jill has a wealth of experience in personal tax, having started her career as a tax officer in the Inland Revenue – now HM Revenue & Customs – in 1977. She worked in Surrey and London before relocating to Birmingham in 1983 to join Coopers & Lybrand as a personal tax senior. Jill has worked for a variety of employers, ranging from sole practitioners to top twenty firms of chartered accountants and banks. She supports the personal tax compliance component of the suite of services offered by Hill Lillis.
In her spare time, Jill enjoys cooking, gardening and listening to jazz. She is also an avid reader and will be starting a part-time Masters' degree programme in English Literature at the University of Birmingham in the autumn.
James Selfe has been working for Hill Lillis for over 2 years, He is currently an AAT level 4 Apprentice. His AAT training started in 2014, and he has already completed:-
- Level 2 Certificate in Accounting (including the Sage bookkeeping module)
- Level 3 Diploma in Accounting
When first joining Hill Lillis, he was employed in our payroll services department. As he has developed and acquired new skills, he has changed roles and now manages our bookkeeping and VAT functions as well as doing some accounts preparation work. James is also the person we all call on whenever there any technical or IT problems! In his spare time James has 3 loves: cars, going to the gym and eating!
After 30 years of working in the planning industry Julie decided in 2014 it was time to change her career and the following year took some AAT courses. This led to her joining the team in February 2016 where her main responsibilities are managing the payroll and the auto-enrolment pension scheme for our clients.
Her interests include aerobics, yoga, gardening and walking. She also enjoy spending time with her family, especially supporting her husband who runs an under 15s football club, in which her son participates.
Imogen has been working for Hill Lillis now for over a 1 year and has just finished her apprenticeship in level 3 Business Admin.
Imogen’s role in the office consists of:-
- Answering the phone
- Dealing with correspondence coming in and going out of the office
- Billing and statements
- Dealing with Client Portal queries
- Keeping the practice in order
When not in the office, Imogen spends her spare time socialising with friends.
Helen trained with one of the big 4 firms in Glasgow, qualifying as a Chartered Accountant in 1990. Since qualifying, Helen has had a variety of positions in industry and with other accountancy practices. Her main focus has been supporting owner managed businesses with their book keeping and accounts.
When not at work Helen enjoys reading and going away for caravan weekends with friends.
